Step 1 – Back Up Your Current Account
☐ Download Your Facebook Data
Go to Settings → Your Facebook Information → Download Your Information.
Select posts, photos, and other important content you want to keep.
☐ Save Contact Details
If you have important business contacts, export their details into a spreadsheet or CRM (with consent).
Step 2 – Decide on Your New Setup
☐ Choose one (or both) of these routes:
Convert Personal Profile to Business Page – Keeps audience, gains business tools.
Create a Separate Business Page – Maintains personal profile while building a business presence.
Step 3 – Prepare Your Profile Before the Switch
☐ Clean up posts – Remove or archive purely personal posts you don’t want public.
☐ Update your profile picture and cover photo to something professional.
☐ Add your website, contact email, and other relevant business info.
Step 4 – If Converting to a Page
☐ Go to facebook.com/pages/create/migrate.
☐ Follow the prompts to turn your profile into a Page.
☐ Review the new Page and adjust layout, About section, and tabs.
☐ Assign Page Admins if you want a team to help manage it.
Step 5 – If Creating a New Page
☐ Go to facebook.com/pages/create.
☐ Fill in business details, logo, and branding.
☐ Invite existing friends to follow.
☐ Post an announcement on your personal profile linking to the Page.
☐ Pin a post explaining where people should follow for business updates.
Step 6 – Enable the “Follow” Feature on Your Personal Profile (Optional)
☐ Go to Settings → Public Posts → Who Can Follow Me → Select Public.
☐ Set business-related posts to “Public” while keeping personal ones for “Friends” only.
Step 7 – Re-engage Your Audience
☐ Post regularly on your Page with useful and engaging content.
☐ Share your Page link in your email signature, LinkedIn, and website.
☐ Use Facebook Ads to boost key posts and attract new followers.
Step 8 – Monitor & Optimise
☐ Use Facebook Insights to track engagement and reach.
☐ Adjust your posting strategy based on what performs best.
☐ Keep your content mix balanced between promotional and value-driven posts.
